About the fragrance
A grapefruit split open over a pile of cedar shavings: Red Vetiver is an earthy, woody scent that starts fresh and dries into warm, spiced timber.
Grapefruit gives it a lively, slightly bitter citrus start. Black pepper and patchouli leaf come through as it settles, adding spice and a damp, earthy depth. Red cedar and vetiver form the core, dry and woody, with Peru balsam adding a soft, resinous warmth that makes the drydown feel cozy rather than harsh.
It wears well on both men and women and suits casual days, the office and cooler afternoons. Fans of clean vetivers will appreciate it, while anyone who wants sweetness should look elsewhere in the Montale range. Vetiver varies a lot from person to person, so testing a 5 ml decant before buying is the honest approach.
