About the fragrance
A chypre that went on holiday: Chypre Fruite keeps the classic mossy, earthy framework of the genre but fills it with ripe tropical fruit and soft flowers.
Bergamot and tropical fruits give the start a juicy brightness, almost like a fruit platter left in the sun. Rose and jasmine then pull it toward something more polished and feminine. The finish is where the chypre bones show: patchouli and musk lay down a warm, slightly earthy base with the gentle sweetness Montale likes to fold into its compositions.
It reads as a daytime scent, fitting for work, lunches and errands with friends rather than late nights. Fans of classic chypres may find it sweeter than expected, while fruity-floral lovers may find the patchouli more serious than they are used to. That middle ground is exactly what a 5 ml decant can clarify.
