About the fragrance
London is a fireside on a rainy evening with a cup of black coffee and a spice jar left open. It is deep, warm and unapologetically rich.
The opening is a spice cabinet: saffron, coriander seed, cumin, cardamom, black pepper and a dark thread of coffee. The heart deepens into jasmine, geranium, frankincense, labdanum and cistus, resinous and smoky. In the base, cedar, agarwood, musk, birch, amyris and torchwood give a dry, smoldering woodiness.
A unisex scent, it belongs to cold weather and cozy nights in rather than crowded rooms. Cumin is the note that splits people; it can read as warm and skin-like or as sweaty, and it shows up early here. Testing a 5 ml decant over a few evenings is a far kinder way to find out than buying blind.
