About the fragrance
Coffee, almond and white flowers make Layton Exclusif the darker-roasted cousin of the Parfums de Marly favorite.
Almond, bergamot and mandarin give the first minutes a nutty citrus tone. Rose, water lily and gardenia soften the middle with a pale floral sweetness that keeps things from getting heavy too soon. The base carries most of the personality: coffee and vanilla over sandalwood, amber and guaiac wood, warm and slightly bitter.
It suits cold evenings, dinners and anyone who takes their espresso with dessert. Compared with Layton, the apple and lavender are gone and the drydown leans toward a coffee-house gourmand. If coffee notes tend to turn sour on you, a decant will tell you before a full bottle does.
