About the fragrance
Cracked pink peppercorns and a pinch of saffron over tobacco leaves hung to dry: Asad Elixir is the darker, smokier member of Lattafa’s Asad line.
Grapefruit gives the first minutes some lift under the pink pepper and saffron. The heart turns to tobacco and cedar, softened by a thread of vanilla rather than sweetened by it. Frankincense, patchouli, cashmeran and amber build the base: dry, resinous and warm.
This is an autumn and winter fragrance, best at night or outdoors in the cold, and it is mostly worn by men. The Asad line is often compared with Dior Sauvage Elixir; Asad Elixir shares its grapefruit start and patchouli-amber base, but goes toward tobacco and incense instead of lavender and licorice. If you are after a fresh blue scent, look elsewhere.
Tobacco and incense can read rich on one person and ashy on another, which is why a 5 ml decant makes sense: wear it for a few days and judge.
