About the fragrance
Spiced plum on a leather armchair, Gucci Made to Measure is an oriental spicy scent named, fittingly, after tailoring.
It starts surprisingly bright with Calabrian bergamot and Tunisian orange blossom. Plum and cinnamon move in quickly, juicy and warm, while water lily keeps a cool, watery thread running through the heart. The base brings leather, amber, patchouli and labdanum, smooth and resinous, more soft jacket than saddle.
Framed for men, it works best from October to March, at dinners, on dates or anywhere a polished spicy scent fits better than a sporty one. Lovers of fresh citrus may find the plum too dense. Fruit-and-spice accords can read refined on one person and sweet on another, so wearing a decant for a few cold evenings is the quickest way to know.
