About the fragrance
A grapefruit peel twisted over a cup of spiced tea, then a dark stick of licorice: Sauvage Elixir is Dior’s most concentrated Sauvage, and the one that strays furthest from the familiar blue freshness.
Grapefruit opens it and is quickly wrapped in cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. Lavender sits at the center, aromatic and slightly dark, and the base is dense: licorice, sandalwood, amber, patchouli and Haitian vetiver.
It is a men’s fragrance for cool weather and evenings. Next to Sauvage Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum it is spicier, sweeter and more resinous, so if you love the fresh, peppery Sauvage, do not assume you will love this one.
It is sold out for now. When it returns, a 5 ml decant is the smart way to try it, ideally side by side with Lattafa Asad Elixir, an alternative often compared with it, so you can judge both on your own skin.
