About the fragrance
Fig, tea and iris in soft focus: Gris Charnel from BDK Parfums is a warm, creamy spicy scent that feels like cashmere rather than perfume.
Fig and black tea open together, green, milky and a little smoky, with cardamom adding a cool spice. The heart is iris and Bourbon vetiver, powdery and earthy at once, which gives the scent its grey, hazy character. Indian sandalwood and tonka bean settle it into a smooth, skin-close finish.
Framed as unisex, it suits fall and winter, quiet days and close company more than crowded rooms. People who like their scents loud or fruity may find it too muted. Iris and fig can lean milky on some skin and dry on others, so a decant is the honest way to see which version you get. If you already know Tubereuse Imperiale from the same house, this shows a very different side of BDK.
